The death of Her Majesty The Queen
Published: 09 September 2022
It is with immense sadness that we record the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at her Balmoral home, age 96. Since becoming Queen at the age of only 25, following the sudden death of her father King George VI, she has dedicated her life to serving the people of this country, the Commonwealth and beyond. She was known, revered and respected across the world, while at home she was simply: The Queen, our Queen. Many of us have never known a time without her as our monarch, and although it was clear that her health was deteriorating, the news of her passing has come as a shock to us all. Her legacy will endure well beyond the 70 years of her reign.
On behalf of the parish we would like to thank Her Majesty for her selfless devotion to public service over so many years, and express our heartfelt condolences to her family in their loss. We share their sadness.
